Ireland is described as the greenest country and the people of Ireland are very friendly. The Republic of Ireland is in North Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea separates it from Britain. Ireland is The third largest island in Europe. 

To the north west of Europe lies Ireland and has many islands surrounding it. While talking about Ireland we have to be familiar with the Republic of Ireland and the Northern Ireland, which is a part of United Kingdom. The capital of Ireland, that is Republic of Ireland, is Dublin and That of Northern Ireland is Belfast.

Ireland experiences a temperate climate. In winter season, Ireland is cloudy and rainy and only sunshine is occasional. Mountains have snow but snowfall does not occur. During nighttime, the temperature comes down the freezing point and one can see ice and frosts. Rivers and lakes may freeze partially. But the summer is warm and sunny. Rain may occur at times but rainy days are very few. In July and August thunderstorms and lightning may occur. But the summers and winters are almost the same in coastal region of Ireland. Ireland is not very hot or too cold.

The best time to visit Ireland is July-August. This is the tourist season of the year. A visit in May, June and September is also appreciable. During this season, the weather is good. April and May are the time of spring flowers. Those interested in art festivals can visit Ireland in October as many art festivals are conducted during October. The festivals in Ireland is usually in the month of May, June, and august. The Volvo ocean race, Galway festival, Tall ship Atlantic challenge are some of them. Ireland is also famous for sport events. Many sport events are carried out round the year.

Getting there and around

Traveling to Ireland can be made either by air or by sea. You can reach Ireland in flights arriving at Shannon airport, Dublin airport, Cork Airport, or Kerry airport from all around the world. There are direct flights to these airports daily. If you wish to use your own car to travel inside Ireland, then you can choose to arrive at Ireland by sea. There are three ports for arrival namely Ringaskiddy, Rosslare and Dun Laoghaire.

Once you have landed in Ireland, then to get around in Ireland, you have various options like train, bus, car, cycle and also hitchhiking. Cheapest way to get around in Ireland is by bus. This is ideal way to meet people and can participate in lively conversations. If you are traveling in groups, then the best way to travel in Ireland is to hire a coach. One interested in driving can hire a car or even bring down their car and this is the most effective way to see places in Ireland. You need not worry about anything and can take your own time to visit places. If you want to enjoy the fresh air, then you can choose cycling and Ireland is an ideal place for cycling. Bicycles can be hired and are quite cheap. People with low budget can use the Hitchhiking, as this is safe in Ireland. If you choose hitchhiking for the first time, get a pair of walking boots.
